Job Description
Overview
SOS Steel Co., Inc. is hiring an experienced Shop Fabricator to join their team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience fabricating miscellaneous metals and structural steel, be able to read shop drawings, work independently, and take pride in producing quality work.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate structural steel and miscellaneous metal components
- Read and interpret shop drawings and fabrication details
- Layout, fit-up, and assemble steel components
- Operate fabrication equipment including saws, ironworkers, drills, grinders, and other shop tools
- Perform MIG welding and related fabrication tasks
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
- Work with shop and field personnel to meet project schedules
Requirements
- Experience in structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabrication
- Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings
- Proficient with measuring, layout, and fitting techniques
- MIG welding experience required
- Ability to safely operate fabrication equipment
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a shop environment
