Raytheon is seeking a Combination Welder for their 1st shift in Andover, MA, where the role involves setting up and operating various welding equipment to produce experimental and production parts. Responsibilities

• Works from prints, specifications, sketches, and instructions to perform welding, brazing, and soldering operations.
• Improvises or fabricates holding fixtures as necessary.
• Selects and uses specified welding equipment, making necessary setups and adjustments.
• Selects required filler materials for proper fusion of metals and alloys.
• Determines sequence of welding operations to avoid distortion and maintain tolerances.
• Performs welding on a wide range of company products.
• Pre-heats and post-heats materials when required.
• Utilizes tensile testing equipment to perform required pull tests prior to resistance welding.
• Performs all types of brazing using various equipment and appropriate fillers and fluxes.
• Performs soft soldering operations using soldering iron, ultrasonic solderer, and gas torches.
• Performs repair or rework on purchased and shop items.
• Maintains general maintenance and housekeeping of workplace, tools, and equipment.
• Maintains records, moves materials, and follows safety rules.
• Performs other similar duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 years production experience in fusion welding complex weldments.
• Acceptable proof of current or prior welding certification to a Common Industry Standard.
• Post-offer qualifying assessments required.
