Overview
The Metal Fabrication and Welding Technician at Raytheon is responsible for executing a variety of mechanical fabrication efforts, collaborating with support technicians, engineers, and customers to produce high-quality metal parts and assemblies. Responsibilities
- Fabricate critical prototype aerospace parts and test assemblies using various metal fabrication tools.
- Utilize general machine shop tools and dimensional measuring tools.
- Work from basic sketches and underdeveloped drawing packages.
- Manage all aspects of fabrication including setup, operation, inspection, and workload management.
- Operate in a multi-program-controlled area.
Requirements
- AA/AS degree or other 2-year post high school training with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
- At least 6 years of experience welding MIG and TIG.
- At least 6 years of experience with press breaks, rollers, and sheet metal forming tools.
- At least 6 years of experience interpreting mechanical blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience inspecting fabricated parts using standard precision measuring instruments.
