Overview

Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company focused on advancing agricultural productivity and reimagining vital infrastructure. The Welder 4 position involves welding metal and aluminum components to fabricate or repair products according to layouts and blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize all safety devices and wear mandatory personal protective safety equipment.
  • Maintain and operate production tooling and fixtures as well as all welding equipment safely.
  • Produce high-quality welds with a low non-conformity rate using GMAW arc welding.
  • Perform welding operations with limited planning from blueprints or written specifications.
  • Adjust welding equipment to prescribed settings if applicable.
  • Read and complete labor reporting system, standard shop forms, and blueprints.
  • Collaborate with other employees to complete jobs.

Requirements

  • Maintain a safe and productive working environment.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment and follow safety regulations.
  • Ability to regularly meet or exceed production goals without sacrificing safety or quality.
  • Ability to read weld symbols and understand blueprints.
  • Ability to calculate simple mathematics and interpret shop drawings.
  • Basic working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook.
  • Acceptable attendance and prior employment record.
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes if applicable, with prior experience preferred.
  • Ability to use and accurately read a tape measure.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions.
  • Six months to one year of previous hands-on MIG welding experience in a production environment.
  • Multi-pass, stack layering welding experience.

Additional Information

  • Full time hours, Monday - Thursday 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (+ Overtime as needed).
  • This position reports to the Welding Supervisor.
