Overview
Valmont is seeking a motivated Welder for their Columbus facility to fabricate and repair metal components. The company is a Fortune 1000 organization focused on advancing agricultural productivity and infrastructure to improve lives globally.
Responsibilities
- Weld metal components together according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders using various welding equipment.
- Work from blueprints and layouts to accurately fit structural parts together in preparation for welding.
- Lay out guidelines or marks on metal parts and cut metal with a cutting torch.
- Weld metal structural components together in the fabrication of steel electrical poles and substations.
- Adjust welding equipment to its prescribed settings.
- Move pole shafts using an overhead crane and gather parts and materials for projects.
- Utilize all safety devices and wear mandatory personal protective equipment.
- Perform other duties as directed by leaders and management.
- Actively participate in department safety and demonstrate excellent safety practices.
Requirements
- Must have welding experience, preferably MIG welding.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Must excel in a team environment.
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to communicate and interact positively with coworkers.
- Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
- Must maintain an acceptable level of production, quality, and attendance.

Additional Information
- Training will be Monday through Thursday from 6:30 am to 4:30 pm.
- Position works 12-hour shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
