Position Title: Welder

Wage: $24-$25/hour (raises after 90 days)

Shift: 1st

Hours: 5am-1:30pm Monday-Friday

QPS Employment Group is hiring a Welder for a company in Kansas City, MO. This is a direct hire opportunity on 1st shift.

Welder Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Perform structural welding (MIG) on steel and aluminum

• Complete weld preparation, assembly, and finishing (including grinding)

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications

• Operate welding equipment, fabrication tools, and shop machinery

• Select appropriate filler materials for different alloys

• Inspect and self-check completed work for accuracy and quality

• Troubleshoot and resolve welding and fabrication issues

• Collaborate with plant manager, supervisors, drafters, and team members

• Maintain organized workspace and follow housekeeping standards

• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements

• Communicate effectively with internal teams and customers

Welder Requirements:

• Experience in structural welding and metal fabrication (preferred)

• Hands-on experience with welding equipment and shop tools

• Experience reading blueprints and technical drawings

• Prior work in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment (preferred)

• Experience working in field environments or industrial job sites (preferred)

• Blueprint and technical drawing interpretation

• Proficiency in welding techniques and fabrication processes

• Knowledge of steel alloys, aluminum, and filler materials

• Familiarity with fabrication shop operations and equipment

• Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities

• Effective verbal communication and teamwork skills

• High attention to detail and quality control

• Self-motivated; able to work independently with minimal supervision

• Safety-focused mindset

• Fabrication shop with exposure to heat, cold, noise, fumes, and machinery

• Occasional exposure to outdoor industrial environments

• Physically demanding role requiring standing, lifting, and movement

• Regular attendance and reliability required
