Our Jacksonville Maritime Solutions shipyard is seeking to hire various skill levels from Journeyman level production welders' step 1 to step 3 and above mechanics.</span><br><br><span calibri="">This position will be in support our Submarine program at Jacksonville Maritime Solutions shipyard. These roles are responsible for fabrication on submarine manufacturing. The primary tasks include the welding of newly installed structural members and plating, as well as the welding of re-installed temporary access openings. Additional tasks include the following... </span></span></span><ul><li><span style="font-size:13px;"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Welding on a wide variety of materials, using an ever-growing number of weld processes</span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:13px;"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Welding structural assemblies using GMAW and SMAW during fabrication and installation of submarine construction</span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:13px;"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Participation in continuous training in traditional, and new welding processes, using both conventional and state-of-the art equipment (Qualification required for each process)</span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:13px;"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Use of pneumatic tools such as grinders, burr tools, wire brushes, etc.</span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:13px;"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Oxy/fuel pre-heat and carbon/arc gouging as well as verifying weld size using weld gauges</span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:13px;"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Reading and interpretation of weld symbols, technique sheets, and work packages</span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:13px;"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Additional tasks as assigned</span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:13px;"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span calibri="">All tasks require strict adherence to the company’s safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.</span></span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:13px;"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span calibri="">A structural welder should be able to read and utilize welding procedures and welding symbols.</span></span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:13px;"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span calibri="">A structural welder should be able to safely and efficiently use an oxy-fuel torch to apply pre-heat to materials prior to welding.</span></span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:13px;"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span calibri="">A structural welder should be able to safely and efficiently use air carbon arc gouging equipment to gouge welds. </span></span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:13px;"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span calibri="">A structural welder should be able to safely and efficiently use electric and pneumatic grinders to prepare materials for welding, as well as to clean and contour finished welds. </span></span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:13px;"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span calibri="">A structural welder should be able to use measuring tools and gauges to verify dimensions of weld joints in accordance with approved joint designs. </span></span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:13px;"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span calibri="">A structural welder should be able to use weld gauges to verify weld size and quality in accordance with specifications. </span></span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:13px;"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span calibri="">A structural welder should be able to utilize ceramic backing in the flat, horizontal, and vertical positions with the semi-automatic welding processes.</span></span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:13px;"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span calibri="">A structural welder should be able to pass groove-weld qualification tests in all positions for multiple materials and processes, such as Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) of high strength steel and stainless steel.</span></span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:13px;"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span calibri="">This position will be in support of Submarine projects.</span></span></span></li></ul></br></br><b>Required Education, Experience, & Skills </b></br><ul indeed="" sans="" style="box-sizing: border-box; border-width: 0px; border-style: solid; border-color: currentcolor;">Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs</li><li style="box-sizing: border-box; border-width: 0px; border-style: solid; border-color: currentcolor;">Experience working in the construction industry or a manufacturing environment</li><li style="box-sizing: border-box; border-width: 0px; border-style: solid; border-color: currentcolor;">Basic mathematical skills</li><li style="box-sizing: border-box; border-width: 0px; border-style: solid; border-color: currentcolor;">Ability to interpret welding and shipyard procedures, structural drawings, technical manuals, test documents and diagrams</li></ul><br><br><b>Pay Information</b><br>Full-Time Salary Range: $44720 - $78520<br><br>Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures.
