At Triple-S Steel, we have been committed to our core values for over 50 years, focusing on stability, flexibility, and chemistry. The Welder will be responsible for welding, cutting, and brazing metal pieces using various equipment.
Responsibilities
- Plans details of work order procedures and gathers required tools and materials.
- Repairs and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques.
- Obeys all safety rules.
- Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to prevent overheating or damage.
- Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces.
- Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
- Notifies supervisor of faulty equipment or defective materials.
- Operates cranes to pull and move material.
- Identifies materials for proper size grade and heat numbers.
- Measures material to be cut or welded.
- Communicates any issues within the department to management.
- Participates in general clean-up of the warehouse and work area.
- Engages in continuous improvement and monthly safety meetings.
- Completes paperwork.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Prefer High School Diploma or equivalent, but not necessary.
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship.
- On-site testing and training program required.
- Minimum 3 years experience.
- Able to read a tape measure.
- Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding.
- Basic understanding of design techniques and principles.
- Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments.
- Basic understanding of mathematics related to welding assignments.
