Job Description

Overview

The Welder position involves laying out, fitting, and welding fabricated components to assemble structural forms according to job specifications. The role requires knowledge of welding techniques and physical properties of metals, as well as the ability to operate various machines and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and weld cabinets, roof hatches, louvers, frames, tops and bottoms per job specifications.
  • May assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
  • Assemble thin metal structures and large frame structures using a welder.
  • May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
  • Move assembled product to the next production area to complete finished product per job specification.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Report any problems affecting safety, equipment, tooling, or quality to supervisor.
  • Maintain full working knowledge of all processes.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment.
  • Adhere to all company standards and policies.
  • Conduct himself/herself in a professional manner in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D. certification.
  • Minimum of two years of welding experience with both M.I.G. & T.I.G. welders preferred.
  • Ability to operate machines including bar code reader, computer terminal, and forklift.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and capacity to learn new systems.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective organizational skills.
  • Basic ability to understand blueprints, schematics, and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Skill in performing accurate arithmetic functions.
