Overview

General Dynamics NASSCO is seeking 4 Welders J4 for their Weld Shop located in Norfolk, Virginia. This role involves working on various welding processes and requires knowledge of different base metals and welding techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Weld using SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW processes.
  • Ensure quality of welds meets N.D.T. standards.
  • Read weld gauges accurately.
  • Use hand tools proficiently.
  • Follow guidance from supervision as needed.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of welding on different types of base metals (HY-80 & HY-100).
  • Familiarity with different wire and gas combinations.
  • Proficiency in welding processes including SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW.
  • Ability to weld steel, aluminum, copper nickel, and stainless steel.
  • Understanding of standard item 1689 and guidelines of 5 S.
