Overview

The Welding Technician II is responsible for welding and fabricating manufactured products according to blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications. This role requires expertise in various welding techniques, precision, and a strong commitment to quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on a variety of metals to manufacture custom HVAC components.
• Interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to ensure precise welding and fabrication.
• Cut, grind, and prepare metal surfaces before welding to ensure strong, clean welds.
• Inspect and test welds to ensure they meet company and industry standards, making adjustments as needed.
• Maintain welding machines, tools, and other equipment to ensure proper operation and longevity.
• Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures, including wearing proper PPE and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Work closely with engineers, fabricators, and assembly teams to ensure efficient production and high-quality custom HVAC products.
• Identify and troubleshoot welding and fabrication issues, offering solutions to improve production efficiency and quality.
• Accurately and consistently use the company's ERP system to document work time, inventory usage, job progress, and any other required information in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of welding experience, preferably in a custom manufacturing environment.
• Welding certifications (AWS, ASME, or equivalent) are a plus.
• Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding, as well as experience with plasma cutters, grinders, and other fabrication tools.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Ability to produce high-quality welds with precision.
