Overview

Austin Industrial is a leading provider of maintenance, construction, and soft craft services to industrial companies across the U.S. They are seeking a Combination Welder who can join metal parts using various welding techniques as specified by instructions.

Responsibilities

• Use welding equipment to weld or tack weld pieces together.
• Unite pipes from torch to tanks of oxygen and fuel gas and adjust valves.
• Reach expected temperature, size, and color of flame by adjusting gas and air flow.
• Preheat work pieces using a torch for welding or curving.
• Fill holes or correct mistakes in metal work pieces.
• Check the weakness of work pieces and measure them to ensure specifications are met.
• Climb ladders or work on scaffolds to disassemble textures.
• Signal crane operators to lift large work pieces.
• Use thermal-cutting equipment to cut scrap metal or dismount assemblies.
• Use hoists, cranes, and hand tools to place and protect work pieces.
• Choose welding locations based on metal type, thickness, and temperature.
• Instruct and apply flame or electrodes to manipulate metal.
• Join pieces together and add metal to develop parts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• No minimum education requirements.
• 4 years of Journeyman-level experience.
• A Weld Test certification.
• A Valid Driver’s License.
• A TWIC Card.
