TechnipFMC is committed to driving real change in the energy industry through innovation and collaboration. The Welding Engineer 1 role supports project and tender teams, focusing on the simplification, standardization, and industrialization of welding and fabrication processes.
Responsibilities
- Support the System Level Materials Lead engineer during project and tender phases as a welding expert.
- Assist engineering during the design and execution of projects.
- Provide technical support and guidance on welding engineering, fabrication techniques, and quality control.
- Assist in initiatives focused on simplification, standardization, and industrialization of materials and processes.
- Contribute to product development and qualification efforts.
- Support supplier qualification and industrialization processes.
- Conduct technical audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align welding and fabrication strategies with project goals.
- Support the life cycle of products and systems, applying expertise in materials science, metallurgy, welding, and NDT.
- Engage in technical negotiations with clients and suppliers as needed.
- Participate in product and process development activities related to materials and welding technologies.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in materials science and fabrication technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Welding engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in metallic materials welding and fabrication processes.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes & technologies, material properties, testing methods, and fabrication techniques and NDT processes.
- Experience with industry standards and regulations related to welding and fabrication.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
