Overview

Summit Steel Fabricators, Inc. is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance & Compliance Manager to lead and maintain our quality management systems, certifications, and compliance programs. This on-site position is based out of Houston, Texas, and requires a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and continuously improve our ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
• Manage and maintain AISC Certification compliance requirements.
• Lead internal audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Prepare the company for external audits, customer audits, and annual certification renewals.
• Manage quality documentation, procedures, work instructions, and records.
• Oversee welding documentation including WPS, PQR, and Welder Qualifications (WPQ).
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications and applicable welding codes such as AWS and AISC standards.
• Coordinate with production, welding, engineering, and management teams to maintain quality standards.
• Track NCRs, CAPAs, supplier evaluations, and inspection documentation.
• Assist in development and implementation of process improvements across manufacturing operations.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in quality management within steel fabrication, manufacturing, or welding industries.
• Strong understanding of ISO 9001.
• Experience working with AISC Certification requirements.
• Familiarity with AWS welding codes, WPS/PQR/WPQ documentation.
• Experience leading audits and corrective action programs.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Welding inspection certifications such as CWI preferred.
