Overview

The Quality Inspector position in Houston, TX, is aimed at military-affiliated job seekers and involves performing inspections on engineering components, ensuring compliance with standards, and maintaining accurate records. The role requires a high school diploma and at least three years of relevant inspection experience.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models.
  • Perform source inspections at facilities.
  • Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final product evaluations.
  • Perform detailed visual inspections.
  • Document defects and non-conformances in the ERP/QMS system.
  • Prepare inspection reports and maintain files of inspection documents.
  • Understand basic weld inspection techniques and common welding defects.
  • Review inspection records for compliance.
  • Maintain inspection and measuring equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate with production and engineering.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of assembly/mechanical/receiving inspection experience.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Knowledge in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and material specifications.

Additional Information

  • Limited travel (5% or less).
  • Work in a warehouse/shop floor environment 75% of the day and 25% at a computer.
