Overview
The Fabricator Apprentice is responsible for assisting in the manufacturing of MEI products by providing general labor and preparing materials for production processes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare material for the next process step, including deburring plastic, drilling and tapping holes, straightening tubing, and cutting material to length.
- Prepare all parts and sub-assemblies for work using assembly instructions, blueprints, and parts lists.
- Assemble by measuring for the proper location and fastening parts to assemblies.
- Assist the CNC operator in loading and unloading material on the router table.
- Keep manufacturing free of debris and dirt by sweeping, collecting trash, and sorting recycling.
- Assist the materials group with the kitting of project parts when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years general labor experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Able to read and interpret manufacturing blueprints.
- Ability to use multiple different types of hand tools.
- Able to follow verbal and written work instructions.
- Ability to effectively understand and operate within safety guidelines and policies.
Additional Information
- The employee may be required to work in extreme year-round outdoor environmental conditions.
- Possible weekend and holiday work.
