Overview

The Fabricator Apprentice is responsible for assisting in the manufacturing of MEI products by providing general labor and preparing materials for production processes.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare material for the next process step, including deburring plastic, drilling and tapping holes, straightening tubing, and cutting material to length.
  • Prepare all parts and sub-assemblies for work using assembly instructions, blueprints, and parts lists.
  • Assemble by measuring for the proper location and fastening parts to assemblies.
  • Assist the CNC operator in loading and unloading material on the router table.
  • Keep manufacturing free of debris and dirt by sweeping, collecting trash, and sorting recycling.
  • Assist the materials group with the kitting of project parts when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years general labor experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Able to read and interpret manufacturing blueprints.
  • Ability to use multiple different types of hand tools.
  • Able to follow verbal and written work instructions.
  • Ability to effectively understand and operate within safety guidelines and policies.

Additional Information

  • The employee may be required to work in extreme year-round outdoor environmental conditions.
  • Possible weekend and holiday work.
