Overview

The Maintenance Tech I position at Arktura LLC, a subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries, involves maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment in a manufacturing environment. The role emphasizes preventative maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance of plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Performs scheduled plant preventive maintenance activities on machines and equipment.
• Reads manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and services.
• Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests, and makes adjustments.
• Detects faulty operations and reports any unusual situations to management.
• Utilizes a computer to prepare documents and maintain records.
• Maintains repairs parts and supply inventory.
• Keeps tools, vehicles, equipment, and work areas clean and safe.
• Conducts safety inspections on assigned vehicles and plant equipment.
• May work weekend, holiday, or emergency shifts independently.

Requirements

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to operate machinery and technical equipment.
• In-depth knowledge of system maintenance.
• Basic word processing and computer database skills.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
• High School Diploma required.
• 3-5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• College degree or technical training in a related field preferred.
• CalOSHA 10 certification preferred.
• OSHA Forklift Certification preferred.
• CPR & First Aid Certification preferred.
