Overview
Pen Manufacturing is a prominent player in the sheet metal, machining, and welding fabrication industry, focused on delivering precision-engineered solutions across various sectors including Water Infrastructure, Roads/Bridges, and Aerospace. The Quality Inspector will ensure that materials and products meet the highest quality standards, contributing to the company's reputation for excellence.
Responsibilities
- Carefully review blueprints and specifications to ensure all materials and products meet quality standards.
- Evaluate raw materials, approve or reject based on quality, and track supplier performance.
- Select and test product samples to ensure dimensions, functionality, and specifications meet expectations.
- Utilize advanced automated systems for complex testing procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain accurate records of tests, inspections, and production metrics, including defect rates.
- Oversee every stage of the production cycle to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
- Monitor equipment usage and ensure all machinery is in optimal working condition.
- Prepare detailed reports for the Quality Manager on testing results and quality metrics.
Requirements
- Proven experience in quality inspection in a manufacturing setting, focusing on heavy manufacturing.
- Experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) and other quality control tools.
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes and inspecting weldments.
- A sharp eye for detail and a results-driven approach to inspection and quality control.
- A dependable individual who takes ownership of ensuring products meet high standards.
- Certification in quality control standards (ISO 9000 or similar) is a strong plus.
- Proficient in MS Office and familiar with quality testing systems and software.
- High School diploma or equivalent; further qualifications in quality control or manufacturing are an asset.
