Overview

CBSL Transportation Service, Inc. is seeking a Shipping Container Mechanic for their depot, offering a $2,000 sign-on bonus. The role involves container repair and inspection, with two positions available: one requiring welding experience and one without.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interior and exterior inspections and diagnose deficiencies on ISO Tank Units.
• Perform pressure testing and repair of the pressure vessel.
• Troubleshoot, adjust, and repair valves and fittings.
• Repair and modify sheet metal and fiberglass cladding and insulation systems.
• Repair structural frame members if welding skills are possessed.
• Inspect and repair heating systems operationally.
• Inspect and repair various safety systems operationally.
• Prepare units as required.
• Accurately record work performed.
• Conduct multi-point quality inspections per provided checklist and procedure.
• Perform arrival and departure inspections of units and operate heavy lift trucks.
• Load and unload transport chassis using heavy lift trucks.
• Coordinate incoming and outgoing loads.
• Comply with established safety procedures and policies.
• Ensure overall quality of units departing the facility.
• Handle paperwork appropriately to meet company standards for quality control.
• Distinguish between dirty and clean tanks.
• Check containers for cleanliness, issue clean certificates, and estimate repairs.
• Enforce and practice safety rules and company policy.
• Account for personal compliance with all company policies.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Experience not required but preferred.
• Basic mechanical background and aptitude expected.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic knowledge of MIG and TIG welding desirable.
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs. overhead.
• Frequent standing, bending, and walking required.
• Must withstand various weather conditions.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
