Overview

Rapid Pump & Meter Service Co., a subsidiary of The Rapid Group, is seeking an experienced Welder with 5-10 years of welding and fabrication experience to join their team in Paterson, NJ. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of welding processes and metal fabrication, focusing on high-quality workmanship in both shop and field service operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG, TIG, Stick, and FluxCore welding on various metals.
• Fabricate, repair, and modify industrial equipment and piping systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work orders.
• Measure, cut, grind, fit, and assemble materials to precise specifications.
• Inspect welds to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Operate fabrication equipment including saws, grinders, and plasma cutters.
• Assist with pump, motor, and mechanical equipment repairs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Work collaboratively with mechanics, technicians, and project managers.
• Participate in field welding and emergency service work as needed.
• Complete required documentation and work reports accurately.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5-10 years of professional welding and fabrication experience.
• Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding processes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication plans.
• Strong knowledge of welding codes, techniques, and safety standards.
• Experience working with industrial equipment, pumps, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to safely operate fabrication and metalworking equipment.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Additional Information

• Fulltime, field-based role.
• Typical schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30AM - 4:00PM.
• Overtime and on-call shifts may be required.
• Travel to customer sites required.
• Location: Paterson, NJ.
• Pay Range: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour.
