Overview

Coach USA is hiring skilled Diesel Mechanics for the HudsonLink service, which provides over 500,000 passenger rides annually between Rockland County and Westchester County. The role is crucial for maintaining buses and ensuring passenger safety.

Responsibilities

• Utilize diagnostic tools to identify issues with mechanical, electrical, and other breakdowns and failures, performing necessary repairs.
• Remove, install, disassemble, and recondition components of diesel engines.
• Conduct routine and preventative maintenance according to manufacturers' specifications to ensure vehicle reliability and longevity.
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance work meets or exceeds industry standards and complete test drives to verify vehicle safety.
• Write detailed inspection reports and repair plans while maintaining electronic maintenance logs.
• Adhere to all workplace safety policies and procedures, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

• Solid background in diesel mechanics with specific experience working on Cummins and Detroit engines.
• ASE Diesel Certification or associate degree in diesel technology is highly regarded but not mandatory.
• Willingness to obtain a CDL.
• Adept at troubleshooting and implementing solutions to mechanical issues.
• Computer diagnostic skills are a plus, but training is provided.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions, including outdoors.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Possess the necessary toolkit to carry out maintenance duties independently.
• Experience in the Motor Coach Industry preferred.
• Champion safety standards to ensure a secure workplace.
