Overview

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is a 100% employee-owned commercial construction company specializing in diverse project types across the nation. They are seeking a skilled welder fitter for large commercial projects in the greater Phoenix, AZ area.

Responsibilities

• Perform shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), flux cored arc welding (FCAW), and tungsten inert gas welding (TIG).
• Utilize proper equipment, materials, and supplies for civil construction projects.
• Pass a 6G position welding test for carbon steel pipe.
• Work in the prefabrication shop and out in the field.
• Understand Process Piping Systems and Isometric Drawings.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in welding preferred.
• Must have appropriate pipe certifications.
• Familiarity with shop fabrication techniques and strategies required.
• General knowledge of construction principles and processes required.
• Proven commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Ability to work independently and meet attendance schedules consistently.
• Knowledge of surface preparation, electrode storage, and welding machine setup.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Information

• Pay rate is determined by current level of knowledge and experience.
• $1.00 increase to base pay if licensed.
