Overview

Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repair welding on large mowers, tractors, trucks, and heavy equipment.
- Fabricate and weld metal components according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders.
- Maintain welding supplies inventory and make purchasing recommendations.
- Drive and operate a mobile welding unit for field repairs.
- Assist in the mechanical repair of heavy equipment.
- Train and assist apprentice welders in their job duties.
- Perform any other trades work as needed or assigned.
Requirements
- Three years of welding experience.
- Welding certificate from a trade school plus two years of required experience will meet the education and experience requirements.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Some positions require Class A or B Commercial Driver's License.
- Knowledge of welding principles, practices, techniques, safety precautions, equipment, and materials.
- Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations for equipment modifications.
- Ability to drive and operate a mobile welding unit.
- Ability to perform overhead, horizontal, vertical, and flat welding.
- Skilled in the use of arc and acetylene welding equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints and design drawings.
- Ability to complete routine paperwork.
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships.

- Subject to evening and weekend shifts.
