Overview
The Field Mechanic with MYR Group will travel to project sites across Texas, performing maintenance, preventive maintenance, and minor equipment repairs while providing exceptional customer service. This role offers opportunities for advancement within the Fleet Department of a company with over 8,500 employees focused on electrical construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanic assignments using independent judgment.
- Conduct a full range of servicing and repairs on fleet equipment.
- Travel frequently to customer job sites for repair and maintenance.
- Maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
- Provide oversight for less experienced mechanics.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
- Identify mechanical problems visually or with diagnostic equipment.
- Maintain records of time and materials used on each job.
- Track information in computer software and ensure accuracy.
- Conduct safety inspections of equipment and prepare documentation.
- Work in accordance with DOT, EPA, OSHA, and other regulations.
- Participate in training programs to maintain safety skills.
- Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct.
Requirements
- Five years of experience in general heavy truck repair, automotive repair, or equipment repair.
- Completion of a vocational/technical school program or apprenticeship in vehicle and equipment repair.
- Ability to operate company vehicles and equipment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Additional Information
