Overview
The Manufacturing Technician/Welder will support the Production Department by performing TIG welding and semi-automatic orbital welding on high purity gas delivery system components. The role requires understanding engineering drawings and good manual dexterity along with experience in mechanical assembly.
Responsibilities
- Prepare materials by cutting, fitting, cleaning, and aligning components before welding
- Weld both large and small diameter stainless steel tubing
- Read project drawings, specifications, work orders, and procedures
- Position, align, and set-up components according to specifications
- Identify faulty components and/or test and inspect welded surfaces for quality
- Perform standard TIG and tack welding procedures
- Safely operate orbital welding equipment
- Complete production paperwork and recordkeeping
- Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work area (5S)
- Willing to work overtime as required
- Effectively interface with team members for component and equipment resources
Requirements
- Must have good vision and dexterity
- Must be able to stand, bend, twist, and sit throughout the day for extended periods of time
- Be able to follow protocols and direction thoroughly and repetitively
- High School degree preferred
- Experience in a production, assembly, or manufacturing environment
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- 3+ years of GTAW (TIG) welding of stainless steel
- Must pass a TIG welding test
