Overview

Rhoads Industries, a family-owned company since 1896, is seeking a Quality Inspector to join their growing team. The Inspector will perform non-destructive testing to ensure the integrity and quality of materials and components, working closely with engineering, production, and quality control teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Visual Testing (VT) to assess materials and components for surface defects.
  • Support additional NDT methods such as magnetic particle testing (MT) and liquid penetrant testing (PT) when required.
  • Prepare test specimens and equipment, following established procedures and safety protocols.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of materials and components to identify defects and compliance with specifications.
  • Analyze and interpret test results to determine the presence and severity of defects.
  • Ensure all NDT activities comply with relevant industry codes and company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of NDT activities, including inspection reports and defect logs.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive inspection reports with key findings and recommendations.
  • Maintain NDT equipment and tools for accuracy and reliability.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols while performing NDT inspections.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship required.
  • Excellent visual inspection skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze test results accurately.
  • Proficiency in using NDT tools and equipment, primarily VT.
  • Knowledge of welding codes and standards, such as AWS and ASME.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in using measurement and testing equipment.
  • Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Personnel Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to work independently and irregular hours.
  • Competent in using software tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, OneNote, and PowerPoint.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or an associate’s degree in NDT technology or related field preferred.
  • Certification in one or more NDT methods preferred.
