Overview

At Johnson & Johnson, we believe health is everything and are committed to healthcare innovation. We are searching for an Electrician 1st Class to perform electrical repairs and maintenance in a union environment in San Angelo, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Determine wire and cable size requirements by calculating voltage, amperage, wattage, resistance, etc.
  • Diagnose motor and motor control troubles and correct by repairing or replacing parts.
  • Operate testing equipment such as Voltage testers, Voltmeters, Ammeters, Ohmmeters, Wattmeters, etc.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electronic control circuits and equipment.
  • Work on live lines and circuits using all safety precautions.
  • Change light bulbs and ballast of all types; also replace or repair fuses of any size used in plant.
  • Operate and work from ladders.
  • Make necessary openings, cut outs, etc. as required by assignment.
  • Lay out and install electrical wiring and components working from blueprints, sketches, diagrams, etc.
  • Direct, instruct, and advise helpers when assigned.
  • Maintain work areas and shop in neat and orderly condition; adhere to all safety requirements.
  • Install and make minor repairs to programmable controllers.
  • Communicate business related issues or opportunities to next management level.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience is required.
  • Prefer formalized vocational, technical, or apprenticeship training with applicable experience.
  • Prefer prior experience in GMP, ISO, and QSR or other regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience using a PC, software such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be a team player.
  • Arc Flash training.
  • Knowledge of current electrical codes.
  • Must possess a current and valid driver's license.

Additional Information

  • This position is under a Collective Bargaining Agreement in a union environment.
  • The hourly rate is $28.34/hr.
  • Candidates will need to take and pass the WorkKeys Assessment.
  • Selected candidates must be amenable to a day shift schedule for 6 to 9 months for training.
