Overview
The Field Mechanic is responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining the mechanical functionality of construction equipment. The position requires both on-the-job and classroom training in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components, reporting to the Fleet Manager.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a repair log of all service work, parts needed, and duration of time on each repair
- Uphold Strack’s safety commitment and customer safety requirements
- Determine overall condition of machines through inspections and provide maintenance
- Diagnose issues with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Restore equipment to working order through component replacement and/or repair
- Exhibit positive and effective communication with Strack, Inc. team members
- Utilize parts & maintenance manuals and specialty diagnosis equipment

- Must be willing and able to travel out of town and/or out of state to work on job sites
- Must have good work ethics: Be on time, work hard, and be willing to learn
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to pay attention to safety and promote a safe work environment
- Excellent driving record
- Experience and/or educational background related to mechanical, electronic, or hydraulic systems
- Overtime may be required
- Able to develop necessary computer skills for support duties
- Physical effort required to move objects and tools up to 75 pounds; frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices
- Valid Driver’s License
- High School diploma or equivalent
