Overview

As a Trailer Mechanic at XPO, you will perform maintenance and repairs on trailer equipment while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. XPO is a leading global provider of transportation services, seeking skilled individuals to contribute to their integrated network.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance functions and adjustments on trailing equipment.
• Access any area of the equipment to perform necessary maintenance.
• Repair or rebuild all or part of equipment systems.
• Abide by DOT, EPA, OSHA and other rules and regulations.
• Maintain proficiency in equipment and technologies.
• Move trailers throughout the property and operate a hostler.
• Enter job times and parts on repair orders.
• Operate specialized tooling and vehicles.
• Ensure the work area is clean, safe, and organized.
• Interact with operations and shop management.

Requirements

• 1 year of verifiable experience in heavy-duty maintenance or entry-level Technician role.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Able to perform safety inspections and prepare safety documentation.
• Basic computer skills.
• Available to work a variety of shifts.
• Brake inspection qualified as per FMCSA regulations.
• Vehicle Inspection qualified in FMCSA regulations.
• Basic hand tools required for heavy-duty trailer maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent work-related or military experience preferred.
• Prior mechanical experience such as automotive or skilled trades preferred.
• Diesel tech school diploma preferred.
• Previous or current ASE certifications preferred.
• Basic welding skills (Oxy/Acetylene, MIG and ARC) preferred.

Additional Information

• Day Shift, 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday.
• Tool allowance of $400 per quarter.
