Overview
Ingalls Shipbuilding, the largest manufacturing employer in Mississippi, is seeking skilled Pipe Welders to join their team. The role involves performing pipe welding procedures in a shipyard environment, contributing to the construction of naval ships for the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard.
Responsibilities
- Perform pipe welding procedures on Stainless Steel and Copper-Nickel pipe using Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW).
- Work in a shipyard environment that may involve different heights, confined spaces, and various weather conditions.
- Adhere to safety procedures that meet or exceed industry standards.
- Complete welding tests in various positions including restricted (6G), vertical (3G), horizontal (2G), and overhead (4G).
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of pipe welding experience.
- Experience in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW).
- Ability to pass military standard X-Ray welding test on stainless steel and copper nickel in the 6G position.
- Ability to pass a military specification welding assessment in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions.
