Overview
Robinson Fans, Inc. is a family-owned business established in 1892, specializing in industrial air-moving equipment. They are seeking a Lead Welder for 3rd Shift to supervise production team members and ensure high-quality welding standards.
Responsibilities
- Review project assignments and instructions from Team Leader.
- Review drawings and welding details for each job.
- Obtain an understanding of the task and develop an action plan.
- Set up welding machine and other required equipment.
- Weld assemblies per the required standards.
- Implement the existing manufacturing strategy and production schedule.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement or efficiency optimization.
- Implement quality and safety standards in conjunction with the Safety and Quality Managers.
- Lead, develop and direct the work of 3rd shift teammates.
- Manage the 3rd shift employees’ time and attendance through Paycor.
- Make recommendations on personnel decisions that may impact departmental planning.
- Participate in meetings to review project completion and problem resolution.
- Minimize downtime.
- Remain current with industry technology, processes and practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have a minimum of five years experience with Mig, Tig and Flux Core.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- A 'can do' attitude and a willingness to build skills as a Lead Welder.
- Ability to consistently produce high-quality welds on all fabricated components.
- Ability to pass AWS D1.1 welding qualifications as well as AWS D14.6 if applicable.
- Read and understand Robinson weld detail drawings and welding procedures.
- Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative style across multiple departments.
- Performance Management experience.
- Proven problem-solving skills.
- 5+ years experience in manufacturing or operations with 3+ years in a lead role.
- Demonstrated track record of operational excellence.
- Ability to work flexible hours as required.
- Must be able to lift to 50 lbs and comply with safety requirements.
