Overview

Robinson Fans, Inc. is a family-owned business established in 1892, specializing in industrial air-moving equipment. They are seeking a Lead Welder for 3rd Shift to supervise production team members and ensure high-quality welding standards.

Responsibilities

  • Review project assignments and instructions from Team Leader.
  • Review drawings and welding details for each job.
  • Obtain an understanding of the task and develop an action plan.
  • Set up welding machine and other required equipment.
  • Weld assemblies per the required standards.
  • Implement the existing manufacturing strategy and production schedule.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement or efficiency optimization.
  • Implement quality and safety standards in conjunction with the Safety and Quality Managers.
  • Lead, develop and direct the work of 3rd shift teammates.
  • Manage the 3rd shift employees’ time and attendance through Paycor.
  • Make recommendations on personnel decisions that may impact departmental planning.
  • Participate in meetings to review project completion and problem resolution.
  • Minimize downtime.
  • Remain current with industry technology, processes and practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of five years experience with Mig, Tig and Flux Core.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • A 'can do' attitude and a willingness to build skills as a Lead Welder.
  • Ability to consistently produce high-quality welds on all fabricated components.
  • Ability to pass AWS D1.1 welding qualifications as well as AWS D14.6 if applicable.
  • Read and understand Robinson weld detail drawings and welding procedures.
  • Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative style across multiple departments.
  • Performance Management experience.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • 5+ years experience in manufacturing or operations with 3+ years in a lead role.
  • Demonstrated track record of operational excellence.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 lbs and comply with safety requirements.
