Overview
The WSI pipefitter is responsible for laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems and related equipment for various industrial applications. This role requires knowledge of system operations and the ability to follow blueprints while ensuring safety and efficiency in all tasks.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate WSI proprietary automated welding equipment in confined spaces.
- Analyze field welding applications and apply appropriate WSI welding techniques.
- Determine necessary welding equipment, fit-up tools, materials, and procedures for projects.
- Weld pipe, attachments, and structural components from all positions.
- Design, layout, fabricate, and analyze metal failures and repairs.
- Fabricate, fit, and weld material from blueprints and drawings.
- Operate hand and power tools required for pipefitting and welding tasks.
- Use measuring tools and shop support equipment.
- Follow instructions and direction with minimal supervision.
- Understand and practice all safety procedures for the work environment.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills.
- Travel for field assignments as required.
- Train welders in the use of WSI proprietary welding equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Requirements
- High School Completion or GED is required.
- Union Journeyman training, equivalent training, or experience.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience with automated and traditional manual welding equipment.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Ability to perform Stick, MIG, and TIG welding.
