Overview

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. The Aerospace TIG Welder Sr. role involves Inconel-based TIG welding on fuel pumps, high pressure locks, and other large-scale castings for Blue Origin's BE-4 engines within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • TIG welding aerospace stainless steel and Inconel hardware using manual equipment.
  • Weld preparation including cutting, blending, chamfering and cleaning parts.
  • Support and prepare parts for post-weld inspection processes such as dye penetrant, X-ray and chemical treatments.
  • Design support and fabrication of tooling for welding and assembly.
  • Communicate with engineers on design concepts, offering suggestions for improvements.
  • Perform Strip Welding and Installation on Flight Hardware.
  • Review, edit and follow Work Instructions for welding and assembly work.
  • Safely work within an industrial environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 10+ years' experience with DC- and AC-TIG welding of metals including stainless steels, aluminum, Inconel alloys.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to document and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to use precision hand tools, standard mechanical tools and fabrication shop equipment.
  • Familiar with use of personal computers.

Additional Information

  • Relocation provided.
  • SHIFT: A Shift (Mon-Thu 5:00am - 3:30pm).
