Job Description

Overview

The Welder III position involves performing various welding duties including MIG, TIG, and oxy/acetylene welding. The role requires attention to detail, safety consciousness, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, primarily on weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding duties using MIG, TIG, Wire Welder, Spot Welder and/or oxy/acetylene torch.
  • Clean and dress welds as required.
  • Set up and lay out work using material handling equipment or hand layouts.
  • Manual set up of hand held sanders, grinders, wire wheels or other finishing hand held tools.
  • Weld I-Beams, Frames and Fuel Tanks in flat, vertical or overhead positions.
  • Clamp, hold, tack weld, drill, mill, tap, cut and/or bolt together components.
  • Inspect products, equipment and tools for defects and malfunctions.
  • Create quality welds according to blueprints/specifications.
  • Inspect all welds and re-work as necessary.
  • Change wire and gas on weld machine as necessary.
  • Ensure equipment is properly set up and used safely during the welding process.
  • Maintain welding equipment and machines, inspecting regularly and requesting maintenance as needed.
  • Assist/participate in fuel tank pressure testing as required.
  • Perform work to timely standards and quality expectations.
  • Account for time and work completed through weekly timesheets.
  • Report and document basic material, production, quality or safety issues to supervisors.

  • High School or Equivalent education.
  • MIG Welding Certification preferred.
  • TIG Welding Certification a plus.
  • Vocational/Prior Welding Education a plus.

Additional Information

  • Schedule: Friday to Sunday from 6:00 am to 6:30 pm.
