The Welder II position involves operating various welding equipment and tools, reading engineering drawings, and fabricating welded assemblies in a supportive work culture that promotes personal and professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Operate TIG, MIG, and Oxy Acetylene welding equipment and common shop tools.
• Train Welder I.
• Read and understand engineering drawings.
• Use measuring equipment such as tape measures and calipers.
• Cut stock for welded assemblies using shop measuring equipment.
• Fabricate simple welded assemblies and frame assemblies.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area and handle tools properly.
• Conform to departmental safety requirements.

Requirements

• Proficient in welding techniques and equipment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Advanced measuring skills.
• Physically able to perform demanding tasks.
• Ability to distinguish between colors.
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
