Overview

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions for producing semiconductor chips and advanced displays. The Welder II position involves operating various welding equipment and tools, reading engineering drawings, and fabricating welded assemblies in a supportive work culture that promotes personal and professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Operate TIG, MIG, and Oxy Acetylene welding equipment and common shop tools.
  • Train Welder I.
  • Read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Use measuring equipment such as tape measures and calipers.
  • Cut stock for welded assemblies using shop measuring equipment.
  • Fabricate simple welded assemblies and frame assemblies.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area and handle tools properly.
  • Conform to departmental safety requirements.

Requirements

  • Proficient in welding techniques and equipment.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Advanced measuring skills.
  • Physically able to perform demanding tasks.
  • Ability to distinguish between colors.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
