Job Description

Overview

The Welder/Fabricator Level II performs a wide range of welding and fabrication tasks with moderate supervision, requiring solid technical skills and the ability to work from blueprints independently while focusing on quality and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Performs MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding on a variety of materials and thicknesses.
  • Independently reads and interprets blueprints, weld symbols, and specifications.
  • Fits, aligns, and assembles components with minimal supervision.
  • Sets up and adjusts welding equipment for different jobs.
  • Performs more complex fabrication tasks including layout and part modification.
  • Inspects own work to ensure it meets quality standards and tolerances.
  • Troubleshoots basic welding and fit-up issues.
  • Maintains productivity standards and supports continuous improvement efforts.
  • Trains and mentors Level I employees as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred.
  • 2–5 years of welding/fabrication experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in multiple welding processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed prints and specifications.
  • Understanding of the use of various types of equipment and tools common to the welding trade.
  • Understanding of the characteristics and properties of various metals used in welding.

  • Normal manufacturing and office environment.
