Overview

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions, focusing on equipment for manufacturing display and semiconductor chips. The Welder II position involves operating various welding equipment and tools, training junior welders, and ensuring a safe and clean work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate TIG, MIG, and Oxy Acetylene welding equipment and common shop tools.
  • Train Welder I.
  • Read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Use measuring equipment such as tape measures and calipers.
  • Cut stock for welded assemblies and frame assemblies.
  • Fabricate simple welded assemblies and frame assemblies.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area and handle tools properly.
  • Conform to departmental safety requirements.

Requirements

  • Proficient in welding techniques and equipment.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Advanced measuring skills.
  • Experience with shop measuring and cutting equipment.
  • Physical ability to perform demanding tasks.
