Overview

The Welder/Machinist position at GE Aerospace involves performing basic weld operations, primarily using TIG welding techniques, while ensuring quality and safety in the work environment. Responsibilities

  • Perform basic weld operations including work set-up and material handling.
  • Weld material using a TIG welder.
  • Assemble rework parts.
  • Certify various material types for TIG and/or EB Welding.
  • Prep parts for welding.
  • Use manual, automatic, and dabber TIG welding equipment.
  • Inspect finished welds and identify defects.
  • Measure parts with precision measuring tools.
  • Maintain perishable tools and replace or stock as necessary.
  • Read blueprints and apply prints to assemble parts.
  • Keep work area clean.
  • Verify correct tool hardware and specifications.
  • Set up parts and change out tooling.
  • Read and process parts and conduct visual braze inspection.
  • Maintain accurate work records.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments to inspect parts.
  • Support team concepts and perform other duties as required.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with others.
  • Follow and promote safe work practices.
  • Support LEAN initiatives.
  • Lift light to medium weight and perform tasks in various positions.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution.
  • 6 months to 1 year of TIG welding experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.
  • Ability to perform precise and detailed work.
  • 1 year of machining/manufacturing experience is preferred.
