Overview

CMI Management LLC, now part of the Dexterra Group, is a provider of business, technology, and facilities management solutions. The Pipe Fitter will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems at a customer site in Beltsville, MD.

Responsibilities

• Review design specifications and blueprints to determine the layout of piping systems.
• Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to fit precise dimensions.
• Assemble and secure pipe systems to walls and structural steel using brackets, clamps, hangers, and welding equipment.
• Connect pipes using various methods, including welding, soldering, brazing, fusing, or cementing joints.
• Run pressure tests and inspections on installed systems to check for leaks and ensure compliance with safety codes.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and repair or replace broken pipes, valves, and supports in existing systems.
• Perform other pipe fitter related duties as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the pipe fitting field.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Experience performing related services within a government facility.
• Thorough understanding of workplace safety guidelines and building codes.
• Ability to lift heavy materials, climb scaffolding, bend, and work in cramped or high environments.
• Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
• Must be able to pass a government background check.
