Marathon Electric – Motors and Generators

Overview

Marathon Electric, part of WEG Group, is seeking a skilled Welder for their Wausau location. The Welder will work in a team environment to build motors and generators, prioritizing safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Tack weld body frames and rings.
• Weld body frame, rings, and feet.
• Stack rotor laminations onto arbors and weld lams.
• Read blueprints and follow job specifications.
• Approve and reject raw materials based on quality standards.
• Select output and check using appropriate methods and measurements.
• Inspect production procedures to ensure efficiency and safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to follow established procedures for safety, quality, and general assembly.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; higher degree from a technical school is a plus.
• Certified welder - MIG, TIG, wire feed, aluminum and steel preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management.
• Basic computer literacy preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to understand the physical and mechanical properties of metal.
• Mechanical working and heat treatments including metal cutting and grinding is desirable.
• Ability to coach and lead others with respect and strong communication skills.

Additional Information

• 2nd shift, Monday – Thursday, 10 hour shifts, 3pm - 1am.
