Overview

Ben's Structural Fabrication is a locally owned and family-run fabrication company in Waite Park, Minnesota, specializing in high-quality structural steel solutions. They are seeking a skilled Miscellaneous Welder to fabricate and weld building components while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret shop drawings to determine weld type, size, and placement.
• Fabricate weldments and miscellaneous components according to specifications.
• Set up, adjust, and operate welding equipment safely and effectively.
• Perform GMAW-pulse (MIG) welding in flat and horizontal positions on various materials.
• Prepare surfaces before and after welding (sanding, grinding, wire brushing, degreasing).
• Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies at all times.
• Inspect your work to ensure quality conformance using measuring devices, drawings, and visual checks.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Complete required production, quality, and time documentation accurately and on time.
• Frequently lift and handle materials weighing approximately 50–100 pounds.
• Support overall shop productivity through teamwork and adherence to standards.
• Provide backup support to other fabrication or welding areas as needed.
• Assist with general shop housekeeping and organization.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2+ years of MIG welding experience on steel surfaces.
• Completion of a welding curriculum from an accredited technical college (preferred).
• Experience welding in the vertical up (3G) position (preferred).

Additional Information

• This is a full-time, hourly position.
• Work is typically performed Monday through Thursday, 6:00 am – 4:15 pm, with overtime on Fridays (6:00 am – 3:00 pm), if needed.
