Overview

The Electrician Mechanical position at Metra involves maintaining electrical equipment on locomotives and passenger railcars, ensuring safety compliance, and promoting safe work practices. This is a union position with varying starting pay rates based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electrical equipment on diesel/electric locomotives, self-propelled coaches, and passenger railcars.
• Ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations.
• Promote safe work practices and maintain a safe work environment.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be a Journeyman Electrician or have a minimum of four years of experience with similar equipment.
• Must be able to read schematic drawings.
• Must be available to work all shifts and at various locations in the six county metropolitan area.
• Candidates with documented attendance or performance issues will not be considered.
