Overview
The 1st Shift Assembly Solder Technician III position at RTX involves assembling and repairing electronic units, utilizing industry-standard soldering techniques. RTX is the world's largest aerospace and defense company, focused on solving complex problems and redefining the future of aerospace technology.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and repair a variety of electronic units using prescribed repair techniques.
- Identify correct parts, components, wires, and materials needed for assembly and repair.
- Solder electronic components using industry-standard techniques and tools.
- Remove suspect and failed components and install new components accurately.
- Operate assembly machines and ensure proper functioning.
- Measure, mix, and apply chemicals and adhesives according to safety and operational guidelines.
- Read and interpret technical data including component maintenance manuals, assembly instructions, and engineering prints.
- Communicate work status to team members and support staff, ensuring seamless workflow.
- Document clear and concisely and maintain accurate records.
- Utilize computer skills and office software applications.
Requirements
- Typically requires a HS Diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience or in the absence of a HS Diploma or GED, 4 years of relevant experience.
- Certification of IPC Class III Solder Exam preferred.
- Experience with electronic assembly preferred.
- Experience in the aerospace industry preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant experience preferred.
