Overview
The Weld Tech II position in Grapevine, TX involves performing manual and clerical duties in the Flagpole Production Department, including building and fabricating flagpoles and aluminum shafts, interpreting mechanical drawings, and welding products. The role requires strong communication skills, proficiency in computer systems, and the ability to operate material handling equipment safely.
Responsibilities
- Build and fabricate various types of flagpoles and aluminum shafts according to customer demand.
- Assemble parts and products from components such as brackets and eagles.
- Use computer systems to maintain and track production work orders.
- Comprehend and interpret mechanical drawings, including CAD and engineering drawings.
- Weld products in accordance with the wage/learning progression outlined by the supervisor.
- Organize stock and move pallets as required.
- Communicate effectively with peers and supervisors.
- Visually inspect welds for compliance with standards.
- Interpret bills of materials and job orders for inventory control.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely.
- Participate in inventory and cycle count processes.
- Prepare products for shipment and maintain records on items taken from stock.
- Report discrepancies on workstation materials or shipments to the supervisor.
- Perform other related duties as directed by the supervisor.
