Overview
The Machinist will be part of a team operating shop equipment to manufacture, repair and restore airframe and engine parts to their original serviceable condition. This role requires safety-conscious behaviors and the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Operate shop equipment to manufacture, repair, and restore airframe and engine parts.
- Design and construct tooling when necessary.
- Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
- Work alternate shifts, off days, and weekends as required.
- Perform tasks efficiently with little or no supervision.
Requirements
- Two-year post-secondary Machine Tool Technology Certificate or 4 years precision machining experience.
- Experience in the setup and operation of various mills and lathes.
- Ability to sharpen cutting tools and drills.
- Knowledge of machine shop measuring instruments.
- Satisfactory score on the mechanical aptitude test.
- Willingness to work alternate shifts, off days, weekends, and holidays.
- Demonstrated theoretical and working knowledge of machine shop jobs and skills.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and apply information from technical manuals and blueprints.
- Flexibility to respond to change or multiple work assignments.
- Valid driver's license.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Ability to pass an extensive background check, drug test, and audiogram.
- Authorized to work in the US.
