Overview

Vulcan Materials Company is the nation’s largest producer of construction aggregates and a major producer of aggregates-based construction materials. The Traveling Driller role involves prioritizing safety, operating drills, and maintaining equipment while contributing to a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety by prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others.
• Move drill to designated location within the quarry and safely maneuver drill into position.
• Operate unit to drill holes according to drill pattern.
• Maintain bits, hammers, and steel tubes, and inspect drill mechanisms.
• Complete drilling and blasting reports as required.
• Train and direct the work of drilling co-workers.
• Assist in drill and blast pattern design layout.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience in the Mining or Aggregates industry is preferred.
• Acceptable performance, maintenance, and safety history is required.
• Must be able to work overtime and extended hours.
• Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
• Must either have or be able to obtain a Class B CDL License.
