Overview

The Machine Operator position involves performing various tasks in the Welding department, including TIG welding of sheet metal and aluminum, material handling, and maintaining safety standards. The role requires flexibility as operators may be reassigned to different departments based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • TIG weld formed aluminum and stainless-steel sheet metal components to production specification and quality requirements.
  • Prep, prime, and paint welded parts.
  • Operate semi-automated extrusion saw.
  • Punch extruded bar.
  • Slit and roll radius extruded bar.
  • Handle materials including forklift movement and unloading trucks.
  • Manage productivity through the production control system (ERP) as orders are completed.
  • Observe plant safety requirements and report safety concerns.
  • Maintain work area to established 6S standard.
  • Serve as a helper or machine operator on shears, presses, packaging/shipping or other duties as required.
  • Attend and participate in department and shift meetings including safety trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Read and understand production orders and blueprint drawings.
  • Welding experience and certification preferred but not required.
  • Strong mathematical and measurement skills, especially ruler (to 1/64") and protractor.
  • Flexible team player with a solid work ethic and reliability.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills for effective communication.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Resourceful problem-solver who works well independently.
  • Forklift experience preferred but not required.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Welding Certification Preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in a welding work-cell.

Additional Information

  • Fast paced manufacturing environment with exposure to ambient/outdoor temperatures and dust.
  • Working hours are Monday – Friday, 6AM – 2:30PM.
  • Flexible to the possibility of Overtime when required.
