Overview
Littell Steel Company is an AISC-certified structural steel fabricator with over 80 years of experience in the bridge and commercial construction industries. They are seeking experienced Structural Steel Welders to join their fabrication team, focusing on welding structural steel assemblies to high-quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural steel welding in accordance with shop drawings, welding procedures, and quality requirements.
- Produce high-quality fillet, groove, and full-penetration welds.
- Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
- Perform carbon arc gouging and weld preparation as required.
- Weld shear studs and other structural steel components.
- Inspect work for quality and dimensional accuracy before releasing assemblies.
- Remove slag and clean welds to meet company and customer standards.
- Work closely with fitters, inspectors, and production personnel to meet fabrication schedules.
- Maintain a safe and organized work area.
Requirements
- Experience welding structural steel, bridge steel, or heavy fabricated assemblies.
- Ability to weld in multiple positions, including vertical and overhead.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and welding symbols.
- Knowledge of FCAW, SMAW, and other structural welding processes.
- Experience with carbon arc gouging.
- Strong attention to quality, workmanship, and safety.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced fabrication environment.
