Overview
Kiewit’s Oil, Gas, and Chemical Engineering Group is seeking a Structural Designer to join their innovative team of engineers and designers. This role involves collaborating with module fabrication and construction teams to deliver safe, cost-effective, and innovative designs that meet client expectations.
Responsibilities
- Proactive about learning new information and skills.

- Has good understanding of the complete design and provides input for improvements.
- Utilizes codes and standards to complete assignments.
- Recognizes inefficiencies or misuse of symbology and questions them.

- Handles various assignments, including rework, in a timely manner to meet schedule deadlines.
- Performs assigned work efficiently and effectively to maximize productivity.
- Conducts quality checks of the design in a team environment to ensure accuracy.
- Carries out assignments carefully while focused on details.
Requirements
- Associate degree or High School diploma with a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
- 2-4 years' minimum relevant experience in civil/structural design.
- Receives limited instruction on routine work and detailed instruction on new assignments from more experienced engineers.
- Adjusts to varying demands of work and performs well.
- Communicates effectively orally and in writing.
- Participates on teams effectively and accepts direction from the team.
- Supports project teams and departments positively and productively.
- Serves as point of contact for external or internal customers.
- Follows through on commitments made to internal and external customers.
- Able to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
- Intermediate AutoCAD skills.

Additional Information
- Position is based out of the Energy Corridor Office in Houston, TX.
- Regular, reliable attendance is required.
- Work during normal operating hours and may require overtime and weekends.
- May work at various different locations with varying conditions.
