Overview

The Instructor of Welding Technology at Central Campus is responsible for teaching and maintaining high academic and professional standards in the welding field. The role involves evaluating student work, providing feedback, and engaging in professional development while participating in college and community activities.

Responsibilities

  • Keeps up with developments in the field of study.
  • Demonstrates high standards — academic and professional.
  • Evaluates student work constructively and provides timely feedback.
  • Teaches at times and locations that meet student needs.
  • Provides access to students through posted conference hours and electronic communications.
  • Reviews, evaluates, and recommends student learning materials.
  • Develops and uses a syllabus and course information materials for each course.
  • Maintains high standards of competence in the discipline and teaching methodologies.
  • Uses effective teaching methods and materials that assist students in meeting course objectives.
  • Reviews, evaluates, reflects, and revises program curricula and teaching methods.
  • Actively participates in college meetings and committees.
  • Participates in college-related activities such as registration and community education.
  • Participates in activities required to maintain program and college accreditation standards.
  • Promotes and maintains departmental affiliation agreements and partnerships.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in teaching field or related field required.
  • Minimum of three years of full-time work experience in the welding field.
  • Ability to pass welding test in the 6G position using SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW processes.
  • Knowledge, skills, abilities, and certifications relative to teaching areas.
